Welcome, 3tails

This is serious. READ IT.

Before making your first article look over ED:101. If you don't, it is unlikely that your article will survive for more than sixty seconds and you risk being banned by ED Sysops.

We realize a lot of you are busy or may be new to ED, so here's just the most important info:

  • Read ED:101. Seriously. The information contained within is invaluable. Further tutorials of use can be found here.
  • To answer a message, reply on the user's talk page (Tab at the top that says 'discussion').
  • Sign your comments by using four tildes (like this ~~~~)
  • These are the sysops. If you have a problem, talk to them. They're here to help; we promise.
  • The TJC is the community portal. It's linked to from every page; just look at the top left of the page. Check it daily.
  • Use Special:Upload to upload pictures. Be sure to give them meaningful names. Also, do not upload any CP or Bestiality pr0n or you will be b&.
  • Active editors and sysops can be found on ED IRC. This is the place to go for advice, collaboration, and brownie points.
  • Feeling social? Enjoy forums? We've got one. Lolgo.png Join here.

Working on Templates. Yay

redirecting

please don't redirect content. Furluminati are furries, but furries are not furluminatti. That would be like redirecting everything with the furry series template on it. Mike the Great (talk) 03:07, 6 August 2012 (EDT)

(Left reply here.)

  1. There are no logs for the page on uncyclopedia.
  2. I wrote about a third of it, so it's not copied
  3. Just consider it an in-joke.
It's not hurting anything being there. Mike the Great (talk) 13:58, 6 August 2012 (EDT)
the furluminati exists. just try to insert truth about yiff on the wikipedia page for furry fandom. youll meet the furluminati soon enough. :) -hipcrime Emote Pop tart cat.gif 19:08, 6 August 2012 (EDT)
(replied here.)
stands out? im with mike on this one, it isnt hurting anything by being there. i will add some links to the wikipedia shit, but the article is better than some of our tartlet articles imo. -hipcrime Emote Pop tart cat.gif 19:29, 6 August 2012 (EDT)

Nice to see that you also like Italian Horror

But seriously, no need to categorize images. SWfan 17:25, 12 January 2013 (EST)

It was kind of suspicious to me too. ••General Niggerson Page me. 17:30, 12 January 2013 (EST)
  • My favorite Italian horror. P.S. I also miss ye olde ED, it's just that we can't do that anymore, but glad that you understand :)SWfan 19:32, 12 January 2013 (EST)

Template

If you need any assistance with that template let me know. Schnookums Icon3.png 18:23, 7 June 2013 (EDT)

  • It isn't finished but I added another template. This one has been simplified with comments.
  • You can use the {{clear}} template.

Adding tips as I find them. Schnookums Icon3.png 19:40, 8 June 2013 (EDT)

Alright, I fixed the template you made. Took a while to figure out what is wrong. It needs improvement but at least it is functional. Schnookums Icon3.png 19:40, 8 June 2013 (EDT)
It can be tricky to get a template setup correct. There wasn't really any secret, I just started from the beginning and made sure elements were defined correctly. It seems the problem was you had 2 columns at the top then at the bottom just 1. This caused the content to fill only half of the table. Schnookums Icon3.png 18:30, 9 June 2013 (EDT)

editor privs

You've been a contributor since 2011 and even before then. We appreciate your continued dedication and have granted you editor privileges. Hopefully you'll help us maintain the Main Page. If you're interested you may contribute to:

Should you have any questions, please leave a message on my talk page. Thanks! Schnookums Icon3.png reply 20:13, 5 April 2015 (EDT)

RE: Setup?

You have to actually create the page, not just change the thumbnail on the POTN page. Endsenten 18:18, 17 March 2016 (EDT)

Guitar Hero

SealED.png HEY THERE!
Hey, 3tails! I saw what you did with Guitar Hero.
I just wanted to say keep up the good work.

Nice edits man. AlGore 06:43, 27 May 2016 (EDT)

Furfags & Cannibal Holocaust

GG again on the work you put on the furfag article and cleaning it up a little.

I'm also working on a page for Cannibal Holocaust if you want to chip in; then we release when other editors / admins give it a greenlight.

Saw the edit you did. I approve. AlGore 20:20, 3 June 2016 (EDT)

Ah ok

Ah alright, I didn't know that, I'm not much of a forum user myself. Well maybe someone on the forums will mention it feel free to post it (maybe), I thought it was hilarious and worth mentioning. Anyway, no problem, I'll keep it in mind. oh and thnx for explaining why you changed it. --TROLAHOAR (talk) 08:32, 13 August 2016 (EDT)

Cannibal Holocaust

You pretty much did all of my work for me so you get the credit for the hard work / page. I published it and edited your user page to add the fact you made it. Congrats AlGore 07:47, 16 August 2016 (EDT)

Redirecting Articles

  • Stop redirecting entire articles on the sole pretense that you think they are shit.
    • Just because you think an article is shit, doesn't mean it is.
    • You don't even have any administrative rights, so therefore aren't in a position to determine what stays/gets deleted or what's relevant/irrelevant to ED.
    • Improve or ignore. If you're not willing to fix said article, then walk away.
    • Based on previous discussion, you've been told to stop doing this before.
    • Your edit history suggests you've been doing this for some time.
  • You've been given editor rights to help out ED beyond the abilities of regular users, not to remove/redirect things you simply don't like.
    • Editor rights =/= admin rights.
    • I'm currently an editor as well, so that feeble attempt you made to prevent me from editing that page was silly.

Don't respond to this; this is something for you to think about. However, if you have any questions about what I'm saying, feel free to ask questions on my talk page. Krade Gavel Icon Small.png 14:38, 27 August 2016 (EDT)

RE: Nethack

If you think nethack is worth keeping, fix it. As it stands it's a prime candidate for a redirect for simple reasons:

  • The game is almost identical to Rogue. Simply having it be on a server isn't enough to really call it a whole new and different game.
  • The Nethack page hasn't been added to in years. Adding a tiny gallery doesn't count as fixing the content BTW.
  • It's a crap stub.
  • Almost nothing links to it.

For someone so experienced you also don't seem to know how to get basic info on an editor. The Furluminati thing was in 2012 and my contributions show that I mostly make articles, fix templates, work on the main page, and try to add presence to existing articles via crosslinking and such. Anything redirected has had a good reason. There are rules on content as to what is crap and what isn't you know. --3tails 16:48, 27 August 2016 (EDT)

LOL

So you would say that any of the redirected articles weren't exhibits? And yes, the Breitbart was a mistake. I fixed it immediately.--3tails 19:45, 28 August 2016 (EDT)
not your call bucko. Uberfukken 19:46, 28 August 2016 (EDT)
Then what do we do to make things cleaned up? This wiki is starting to get full of Exhibit-grade "This kid pissed me off in school fuck him" material. Is it time for another clean-up drive with voting to see if anyone gives a fuck about exhibit-grade crap being directed where it belongs or is it not that important?--3tails 19:49, 28 August 2016 (EDT)
nobody cares stop being autistic Uberfukken 19:54, 28 August 2016 (EDT)
If nobody cares why would it matter what happens to any articles at all? --3tails 20:00, 28 August 2016 (EDT)

Millennials

Stop fucking with it please. Thanks.

Millennials = 1980~199X. The segments are an in-depth look at millennials by year and are a big chunk of the article. Stop vandalizing my shit, thanks. Swasikasig.jpg (Al Gore) 00:53, 20 September 2016 (EDT)

People born in the 80's are known as Generation X. Your content is there just as the edit desc said. Millenials are those turning of age in the 00's and were born in the 90's. I also added more content to the section to beef it up. Nothing has been lost unless you reverted my edits. --3tails 01:12, 20 September 2016 (EDT)

My content written for Millennials doesn't belong on 1980s. Please stop with your edits. ~ Swasikasig.jpg (Al Gore) 01:21, 20 September 2016 (EDT)

I'm already writing a prototype for Generation X. That's why GEN X is a redirect to 1980s. When my article is finished, it'll be published. Millennials redirected to Hipster before I wrote the page. ~ Swasikasig.jpg (Al Gore) 01:29, 20 September 2016 (EDT)

You could have just said that instead of starting a stupid edit war. Letting people know you are working on pages is a good idea. --3tails 01:40, 20 September 2016 (EDT)

yes hello

There are a few points I would like to make.

  1. Don't make substantive changes to policy pages. If policy needs to be addressed, raise the issue on the TJC.
  2. Don't edit war, especially with admins. Even if you're right, that's no way to get anything done. Take the issue to talk pages.
  3. Don't touch the Main Page. Just don't. If changes need to be made, again, make the issue known on the TJC.

—  VX  02:33, 26 September 2016 (EDT)

He's been a sysop for some time, at least a few months. I have not seen him pursue vendettas.
The TJC is checked frequently, especially by sysops. I don't know why anyone would tell you otherwise. —  VX  21:26, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
  • Telling you to stop doing something isn't "taking the wiki personal". This would also mean that Uberfukken, HAL, Mike the Great, and VX would also be "taking the wiki personal" because we've all told you to stop doing something, whether that is redirecting content, or fucking with the main page/policy pages.
