Native American vs First Nations Person
Hello Mr Leanne, I see that you reverted my, I admit half-assed, efforts to change the term Native American for First Nations Person in the article titled: Injuns. It was indeed very unfortunate that when the Vikings discovered the Americas people were already there, and it is challenging to give them a name that doesn't confuse them with Pakistanis or Bangladeshis. I believe the term Native American is confusing and wrong since it applies to everybody born, (native, nascere, to be born in) in America. The Canadians have spent millions of CAD to fund a Government Office to deal with such problems of Geostrategic National Interest, and after years of intense research and experimentation have come up with the term: First Nations Persons to refer to the Indians that do not come from Pakistan. I think it is a very rational and sensitive term and it should be imposed across the language board. --Neurogeezer 10:59, 22 August 2014 (EDT)
- Sorry, I can't help with this. Maybe you should remove the term "Native American" from all the Internets. Leanne 15:33, 24 August 2014 (EDT)
